Johannes van Eeden and Saskia Wicomb have transformed Les Mazots du Clos from their own family home into an exclusive Alpine retreat, shaped by their shared passion for authentic hospitality, creativity, and care. Johannes, an entrepreneur, composer, and poet, and Saskia, whose welcoming spirit defines the experience, blend their South African heritage with the spirit of the Alps.

Working closely with director Mohamed Bakhaouch and house manager Alyssa Jotterand, they’ve preserved the estate’s historic charm, creating an intimate sanctuary for private gatherings and meaningful connection. The restaurant, guided by executive chef Marco Cardoso, offers personalised culinary experiences inspired by their love of travel, discovery, and conversation.

Les Mazots du Clos is more than a private escape – it’s a place to celebrate life’s special moments and enjoy time together in privacy and peace. And it’s where the Edenroche story began – a quiet philosophy of hospitality now shared across sister properties, from Rozenhof Villas in the South African winelands to Château de Roche in the French countryside.
